Motu-Au Close Cottages

These 2 new fully self contained modern luxury cottages each on individual sections in the heart of the Manapouri township opened in October 2010. Motu-Au Close cottages are located a small quiet cul-de-sac to avoid traffic noise.

Both cottages have indoor/outdoor flow with ranch sliders opening onto wooden decks.

The cottages were purpose built to enable guests to take advantage of a few minutes walk to Doubtful Sound departure point, Lake Manapouri and Manapouri township's amenitites.

Each cottage has an outdoor living area with gas BBQ's and outdoor furniture Both cottages have garaging for storage of your vehicle and each cottage is set up with the following complimentary supplies:

Tea including a range of herbal teas, instant and plunger coffee, sugar
Salt and pepper including sea salt and pepper corns
Flour
Cooking oil
Glad wrap, tin foil, baking paper
Toiletries
Laundry powder

The Hunter Mountains, located in Fiordland National Park make tremendous viewing from both cottages and both cottages enjoy quietness (apart from native bird song).

16 Motu-Au Close
No 16 is a two bedroom cottage. The master bedroom has French doors opening out onto a private deck and is ensuited. The two bedrooms are seperated by an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. Each bedroom has a queen size bed.
The cottage has top quality fittings and furnishings including a well appointed kitchen with ceramic cooktop, wall oven, microwave, dishwasher, electric fry pan, toaster, toasted sandwich maker and coffee grinder for fresh plunger coffee (beans provided). An inverter heat pump keeps the cottage cool in summer and warm in winter.
For your entertainment there is a large flat screen TV and DVD system with a selection of DVDs, books and games.
Full laundry facilities include an outside clothes line and a clothes dryer. A garage is also located next to the cottage for your use.
18 Motu-Au Close
No 18 is a three bedroom cottage, the master bedroom is ensuited leaving the main bathroom for the other two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed with ranch sliders opening out onto the deck. The second bedroom has queen size bed with ranch sliders opening out onto the deck while the third bedroom has two king single beds. In the lounge one of the sofas folds out to a double bed allowing the cottage to sleep up to 8 people.
The main bathroom contains a shower, bath and wall hung vanity with a seperate toilet located next door. The kitchen, lounge and dining area is open plan and spacious with an island bench in the kitchen area to allow the chef to socialise while cooking.
The cottage is well appointed with quality fittings and furnishings including a full kitchen with ceramic cooktop, wall oven, microwave, dishwasher, electric fry pan, toaster, toasted sandwich maker and coffee grinder for fresh plunger coffee (beans supplied). An inverter heat pump keeps the cottage cool in summer and warm in winter.
Laundry facilties include washing machine, tub, an outside clothes line and a clothes dryer. There is a garage located next to the cottage for your use.
