Welcome to Kepler Mountain View Alpacas – an alpaca stud farm located in beautiful Lake Manapouri, Fiordland. We invite you to enjoy a tour of our alpaca farm, stay in our onsite self-contained accommodation, or shop our gorgeous range of alpacas products. Ministry of Health guidelines on different Covid Levels are followed in all our operations.
We ensure we look after our environment in a number of ways including using Solar Power as our main power source backed up by Hydro if necessary, extensive native plantings, recyling & composting including our alpaca’s droppings which get shared with our community.
We are located in Lake Manapouri, the gateway to Fiordland National Park, one of the world’s largest World Heritage Parks. The cottage enjoys stunning views over the Kepler Mountains and is the perfect place to base yourself while visiting the world renown Milford and Doubtful Sounds and exploring Fiordland.
We look forward to sharing our farm with you. We also run 3 elite stud herds at Kepler Mountain View Alpacas under NZ Summerhill Alpacas, NZ Mystic Grey Alpacas and NZ Black Magic Alpacas – within each stud herd we specialise in breeding Appaloosa, Grey and Black Alpacas – 3 of the most difficult colours to attain.

Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise. What a wonderful place, we feel right at home. Neil & Toni – Townsville, Australia
At Kepler Mountain View we collect our own rainwater, treat our own sewage, make our own compost, and construct our buildings from renewable resources. We use solar energy backed up by local hydro power when necessary and have planted large native areas to support our native birdlife.
Your hosts, Jessie and Ray are both well versed about the surrounding area and Fiordland National Park and can help you with planning your trip to maximise your time while exploring Fiordland National Park and the surrounding Te Anau Basin.
Lake Manapouri is a scenic 10 to 15 minute drive from Te Anau.
