About us
We purchased this property in 1999 when it was just a bare open space and have since gradually developed it into our own paradise. We constructed our own house in 2006 (Ray is a builder) and 15 years ago we started our adventure with alpacas and have grown this to become our full time occupation. We both work on the property full time with Ray as Stock and Farm Manager including being our main tour guide. Jessie manages the administration of all three aspects of our business along with managing stud stock sales, accommodation, shearing and fibre classing through to production of the fibre into products which are sold through our Wild Wool Gallery. Jessie’s studio is located right next to the Wild Wool Gallery retail outlet. We are passionate about ensuring our farm and business is sustainable and have implemented various practices to ensure this, alpacas themselves are a very light footprint and when you take a tour you will learn why these beautiful creatures are a great sustainable farming option. We are privileged to live right on the edge of Fiordland National Park and Kepler Mountain View Alpacas enables us to share our special places with others. We have an extensive knowledge of Fiordland and happy to give advice on what to do and where to go to make the most of guest’s time in Fiordland. |
